Summers meant the lake — the two of them paddling out together, shaking off side by side on the shore, never more than a few feet apart. The First Goodbye
In 2022, Valor passed away. He was the first to go, and for a long time after, the house didn't feel finished. There was a second bowl that stayed down a little longer than it needed to. A leash that hung by the door, unused. And there was Semper — who kept looking for his best friend in all the places Valor used to be.
